The green zone “the Greek theatre” witnesses today Tuesday 8 November many sessions to the platform of the World Youth Forum, on the sidelines of the climate summit (COP27).
The first session “the journey of world youth forum” is scheduled to be held from 10 in the morning until 11. It is an introductory session aims at identifying the mission and the vision of the world youth forum, as well as identifying the events and the different programs offered by the forum which includes WYF laboratories, various simulation models. This is in addition to how to apply and attend the forums’ events, s well as gaining the advantage of attending the events as gaining various personal and leadership skills.
While the second session “Shabab EL-Balad initiative - UNICEF” will be held at 12 in the afternoon which witnesses the initiative of “Shabab El-Balad” that was launched last January during WYF held in Sharm El-Sheikh under the auspices of H.E President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. It is worth noting that the WYF was identified as a key supporter to the initiative to be a sustainable platform for youth and multilateral partners who work together to ensure that youth in Egypt, aged between 10 and 24, gain training opportunities in the field of entrepreneurship.
While the third session “The Academy and Climate Change: How to build bridges between science and policy-making” will be held at 2 in the afternoon, in cooperation with the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS).
The fourth session “The Egyptian Initiative for Green Projects” is also scheduled to be held at 4 in the afternoon in cooperation with the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS), to discuss promoting the field of sustainable and smart development and dealing with the environmental dimension and the impacts of climate change. The launching of the initiative aims to be a main gateway in the process of implementing Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Climate Change 2050.
In the same context, the fifth session “Towards Building Sustainable Educational Systems that Responds to the Climate and Environment Issues” in cooperation with the Egyptian Center for Strategic Studies (ECSS), will be held at 5 in the afternoon to discuss the integration of the green and sustainable curricula in the educational process. This is in order to raise the awareness of the new generation towards the magnitude of the global crisis that the planet is experiencing as a result of climate change.
